Triple Crown of Running
Garden Training Runs
Just because the race is run in the Garden of the Gods it’s not a tiptoe through the tulips! To help prepare you for the challenge the Pikes Peak Road Runners, led by Dave Sorenson, will conduct Garden of the Gods training runs every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 6am beginning on April 7, 2009. The training runs are always completed by 7am.

The training runs follow segments of the course to allow you to become familiar with the course and terrain. There are numerous ability groupings during the training runs so you can train at the level best suited for you. This is a great opportunity to prepare for the race and to enjoy the fellowship of other runners.

Meet at the north parking lot (AKA the Main Parking Area north of the north Gateway Rock formation - map) in the Garden of the Gods park. Please be there before 6am. Attendance is taken at each run and a daily blog is posted on the internet. In 2008 there was an average of 82 runners at each training run. Those who make 8 or more training runs will receive a sweatshirt or shirt.
